Products that Nourish and Enhance Life

With corporate offices located in Clearfield, UT, Albion Minerals is the world leader and innovator in mineral amino acid chelate nutrition. Since its establishment in 1956, Albion has sought to manufacture highly bioavailable nutritional mineral forms and to understand their function and prove their effectiveness through third party research and clinical studies. This deep understanding and continued research has kept Albion on the leading edge of product development and application.

Albion has an affiliated distribution network that reaches into nearly 100 countries. The organic mineral compounds—such as mineral amino acid chelates, specialized mineral salts, and mineral complexes—manufactured by Albion can be found in a wide variety of products that nourish and enhance life.

History

Albion was founded by Dr. Harvey H. Ashmead in 1956. As a pharmacist, Dr. Ashmead brought an overriding philosophy to his fledgling company that exists at Albion to this day: “To help improve the circumstances of his fellow man.” During his extensive travels, Ashmead came to believe that improvements in the nutritional status of people worldwide was sorely needed. To this end he devoted his life to researching nutritional issues and advancing the nutritional status of less fortunate people. He sought to do this through improving the bioavailability of minerals. Today this torch is still carried on by his son Dr. H. DeWayne Ashmead who is the current president of Albion Laboratories and sits as chairman of the board.

After studying the results in thousands of animals, research with human subjects began in 1968. In 1970 Albion introduced a line of patented amino acid chelates designed to support human nutrition. Many companies around the world quickly accepted Albion’s research and incorporated Albion’s amino acid chelates in their own brands of products.

Product Highlights

Iron Taste-Free

Iron Taste-Free™ is a patented ferric glycinate ingredient. It is flavorless, and may be used effectively even in foods, beverages and pediatric suspensions. Albion evaluated the buffer capacity of a number of ingredients, and found that by maintaining an acidic environment, and allowing it to stay in-solution in the duodenum, Iron Taste-Free was better buffered, and more bioavailable. Albion found that the ingredient is better absorbed in any type of liquid due to the buffer capacity of the glycine.

TRAACS

Albion has developed a patented process to prove the existence of chelation in glycinate chelates using an FT-IR proof of chelation method that confirms bonding and identifies a unique “fingerprint” for each molecule. That fingerprint is one of the release criteria in Albion’s quality assurance program. The TRAACS® brand is your guarantee that Albion minerals are what we say they are: mineral amino acid chelates.

Quality Assurance

Albion is dedicated to the quality concerns of its customers. Its glycinate chelates are produced in a facility that is:

• ISO 9001:2008 certified

• cGMP (current good manufacturing practice) certified

• Kosher

• Halal

• EFSA Albion glycinate chelates are:

• CAS registered

• Hypoallergenic

• Vegetarian friendly

• Nutritionally functional

• Of Ultimate Glycine:Mineral Molar Ratio

• BSE Free

• Non-GMO (genetically modified organism)

• Pharmaceutically pure

• Chemically validated (FTIR finger printed)

• Clinically researched

Research, Development & Clinical Substantiation

Albion is a science and research based company and continues to build on the vision of innovative mineral products through sound research. Through ongoing research and product development, Albion stays at the forefront of new understanding of the role minerals play in day-to-day health. Through the development of innovative nutritional products the vision stays alive.

Albion is the only chelate manufacturer that can scientifically prove its molecular structure! By identifying a unique “fingerprint” for each molecule it develops, its customers know that Albion minerals are true mineral amino acid chelates.

Through decades of research, acquisition of 130 patents, and results from 70 human clinical trials, Albion has converted this extensive body of scientific knowledge into a six-stage process for building chelated minerals that are not only more effective but also safer, easier to absorb, and gentle on the stomach.

Albion consistently performs research and testing to further substantiate product effectiveness, results and safety. Many of the studies are highlighted as Research Notes, and are available at www.albionhumannutrition- .com/research-notes.
