The dietitians behind Zing Bars (Seattle, WA), which bring nutrition science, pure ingredients and great taste to snacking, announce the 2016 Zing Nutrition Grants. The purpose of these grants is to support registered dietitians in launching or growing their nutrition businesses or bringing innovative nutrition products or services to market.

“As four practicing dietitians, we created Zing Bars because we couldn’t find a bar that met the needs of our patients and was wholesome enough for our kids. Now, with the growth of Zing Bars into markets across the country, we wanted to ‘give back’ and support the entrepreneurial initiatives of other dietitians who are trying to close the ‘awareness gap’ in better nutrition,” noted Zing Bars co-founder and CEO David Ingalls, MS, RDN.

Three grants will be awarded: One for $1,000 to the first place winning application, and two grants of $500 each to the second- and third-place winners. Entries must be received by September 15, 2016, and winners will be announced on October 15, 2016.

Registered dietitians, diet techs and dietetic students are eligible to apply.
