After a successful open beta, Harvey Health  officially launch, providing convenient, affordable access to integrative medicine. Named after William Harvey, the physician who first discovered how blood circulates through the human body, Harvey’s new telehealth platform expands the reach of integrative medicine through video consultations with licensed naturopathic doctors, advanced in-home laboratory testing and highly-customized natural treatment plans.

Harvey’s physicians combine conventional therapies with holistic medicine’s focus on the whole body and root cause analysis, not just a set of isolated symptoms. Harvey Health provides personalized solutions to individual health issues—emphasizing diet, nutrition and a strong doctor-patient relationship. Every Harvey doctor graduated from an accredited, four-year, residential medical school, passed a national board exam and received a state medical license.

Harvey Founders Kyle Hill and Mike Townsend were inspired by the compelling personal story of co-executive Layne Thrasher, who became passionate about integrative medicine after experiencing a series of failures by conventional practitioners and medical institutions. Together they created an innovative telehealth platform that combines integrative medicine’s philosophies of prevention and natural self-healing with cutting-edge, evidence-based lab testing.

“We noticed the explosive growth of telehealth coupled with the widespread adoption of complementary and alternative medicine and believe bringing them together can dramatically improve people’s lives and the health care system as a whole,” said  Hill, Harvey CEO. “Our goal is simply to bring integrative medicine to the general public in a truly accessible, affordable and scientifically viable way.”

“Our current health care system is the least efficient in the world,” added Townsend, COO of Harvey. “Many doctors lack the time, education and financial incentives to talk to their patients in-depth about nutrition or their long-term health. Harvey offers a refreshing and effective alternative.”

To schedule an initial hour-long video consultation with one of Harvey’s licensed naturopathic doctors, new clients first create an account. They then discuss their health history and current concerns with one of Harvey’s multi-disciplinary doctors during the first video chat on their computer or smartphone.

If recommended during the initial consultation, Harvey mails clients a customized lab kit to collect samples from the comfort of their home. If necessary, Harvey schedules a mobile technician to perform a free, in-home blood draw. After mailing back their completed lab kit, clients can review their clinical lab results with their doctor during a second video call where the doctor addresses each client’s unique diagnosis and shares a personalized treatment plan—consisting of dietary adjustments, lifestyle changes and/or natural supplement recommendations.

Each initial hour consultation is $150 and follow-up appointments start at $75. Although Harvey’s services are not covered by insurance, clients may be able to use their FSA or HSA accounts for payment.

By the end of October, Harvey plans to serve clients in every state except Alaska, Florida, New York, South Carolina and Tennessee.
