The American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS, Portland, OR) has been approved by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission and California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education to enter into a teach-out agreement with Hawthorn University located in Whitethorn, CA, which will be ceasing operations by the end of 2021.

Hawthorn University is a not-for-profit online institution devoted to holistic health and nutrition education that offers certificates, master’s degrees and doctoral degrees in holistic nutrition. Although closing the University was a difficult decision, Hawthorn University has entered into a collaborative and supportive agreement with ACHS to continue its mission of accredited online integrative health and holistic nutrition education.

ACHS is committed to supporting and welcoming Hawthorn students and helping them to achieve their educational goals. Students will receive support throughout this transition as Hawthorn will work with students to complete their degree or certificate by Dec. 15, 2021, or transfer and complete their program at ACHS.

ACHS has dedicated admissions advisors to support Hawthorn students through the application process and student advisors and faculty committed to helping Hawthorn students successfully complete their education.
