ACHS President’s Scholarship Awarded to Digambar Prasad Chaudhary of Nepal
On April 30, the American College of Healthcare Sciences (ACHS) bestowed Digambar Prasad Chaudhary with the President’s Scholarship Award. He was accepted into ACHS’s Graduate Certificate in Aromatherapy program and will begin classes in the Autumn of 2019. Digambar, a resident of Dahiyar, Nepal, will attend classes through ACHS’s flexible, online education portal accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting commission, www.deac.org, which is recognized throughout the holistic health community.

Digambar holds a MA in rural development and English literature and a BA in sociology and English literature from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is a development professional with 11 years of experience, including seven years working in children and human rights awareness programs to eliminate all types of discrimination. He is skilled in diplomatically coordinating with multiple stakeholders including the poor, Dalits, disadvantaged groups and U.S.-based technical experts on assignment implementation matters.
He is experienced in capacity building, specifically in program development; co-ordination of capacity and movement building initiatives; strategic workshops and consultations; resource development; maintaining and building partnerships particularly with local, provincial and central government organizations. He has worked diligently as an activist for women advocacy and leadership development to help secure their rights.
Digambar worked with community forestry User Groups and Forest Environment Workers Union (FEWUN) in Nepal over the past 10 years where he worked with 5,000 members of FEWUN to create employment in Non-Timber Forest Products and essential oil production. Currently, Digambar was a researcher for Aquaculture Market Research. The program funded by Winrock International Agriculture Innovative Farmers.
