On Sept. 3, natural products pioneer Terrence Joseph “Terry” Lemerond, a renowned formulator, retailer, author and founder of EuroPharma/Terry Naturally and EuroMedica (Green Bay, WI), died unexpectedly at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay at age 88.

Lemerond was born on May 20, 1938 in Green Bay. He attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic Grade School and Our Lady of Premontre High School. Upon applying to St. Norbert College, he was told “his grades and knowledge indicated he would likely be unsuccessful in college.”

Determined to make a name for himself, he joined the United States Marine Corps, served at Camp Pendleton, and spent two and half years stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After his military service, he returned to Green Bay, married Marilyn Marinan, had two children, and began working at Bay Natural Foods.

He worked alongside Clare Delsmann, owner of Bay Natural Foods, for many years—often without pay. He supported himself and his family through night shifts at Hudson-Sharp machine shop before eventually purchasing the store from Delsmann.

He later established Enzymatic Therapy in 1981 and EuroPharma USA in 2003. He also owned the Terry Naturally Health Food Stores in Green Bay and Suamico, WI.

EuroPharma is the manufacturer of the Terry Naturally and EuroMedica supplement lines. Over his career, Lemerond formulated more than 500 products and helped shape the modern dietary supplement landscape. He is credited with introducing glucosamine sulfate, IP-6, standardized Gingko biloba and the concept of botanical standardization to the U.S. market.

He was a frequent guest speaker, hosted a weekend radio show for more than 30 years and was inducted into the New Hope Network Hall of Legends. Lemerond was also an author whose books include Seven Keys to Vibrant Health, Seven Keys to Unlimited Personal Achievement and 50+ Natural Health Secrets.

He was also a respected expert contributor for the Retail Fundamentals column in Vitamin Retailer (VR) magazine. His last column was published in the September 2026 issue of VR.

Lemerond was also a frequent world traveler who sought meaningful connections with others who shared his passion for healthy living, a search of greater knowledge and the best ingredients for his dietary supplement formulas.

He loved traveling to exotic places and immersing himself in different cultures and learning about different ways of life. There were few places of the world where he was not acquainted with a colleague or friend. The Delta Air Lines agents at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport knew him by name and were “happy to greet him as he sent off on his next adventure.”

He was also known for his generosity and providing financial support to individuals and worthy causes. He valued his employees and took care in celebrating important moments such as birthdays, which he “never let pass without a personal song or heartfelt message.”

One of his proudest moments was converting EuroPharma to employee ownership, allowing it to be in the hands of those who helped him built his company. Three of his employees at EuroPharma reflected on his life.

Cheryl Myers, chief of scientific affairs and education with EuroPharma, said, “I was fortunate enough to have worked with Terry Lemerond for over 28 years. In fact, he is the reason I came to work in integrative medicine, and I benefited greatly from his vast knowledge of natural health. I once asked him how he remembered so much and he replied, ‘Well, Cheryl, when you walk through the barn as many times as I have, something is bound to stick to your boot.’ I shall greatly miss having him as my mentor and friend. Terry’s generosity in transitioning our company into an employee-owned business has assured that his team can keep pursuing his goals and ensure his legacy of improving the health of America, one person at a time.”

Visitations will be held from Sept. 15-16 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established for NEW Community Shelter in Green Bay.
